Our Heritage

Dedicated to Jack (Bob) Odlum

1942 – 2017

Jack Odlum, first started underground cabling back in 1983 under the trading name Piako Trenching.

In 1993 Odlum Cable Installers Ltd was incorporated. Following this Odlum Cable Installers BOP Ltd was incorporated in 2006 to carry out works in the Bay of Plenty Region.

In 2008 Fibre Networks NZ Ltd was formed between Jack, Raewyn and their son Mark. This company took over the Nationwide Cable installing work as well as becoming heavily involved in trials and pilots in Broadband Fibre to the home.

Whilst this was happening Odlum Cable Installers Ltd branched out and started completing consultancy work overseas in the Philippines and Singapore.

Fibre Networks NZ Ltd has grown and changed over the years and have adapted as a company to meet the needs of our community. As the Nationwide Fibre rollout contracts were being completed, Fibre Networks NZ made a transition to Water Reticulation and Pipe Installation. With this addition to Fibre Networks NZ’s repertoire, we now have a very broad skill set to add to the Civil Construction Sector. As a result, Fibre Networks NZ Ltd  have been awarded and completed multiple contracts to a high standard, throughout the North Island and off shore.

In 2017 Raewyn Odlum, after many years of dedicated service, decided to retire, and brought her daughter Jennie Odlum-Bale, in to assist Mark as Co-Directors of Fibre Networks NZ Limited.
